Untold Stories - Boyden, Bloemfontein

Investigation into the Boyden observatory, a scientific setting which might be viewed as an Apollonian view on the cosmic, yet the same space has a contrasting viewpoint, being the lost interpretations of the Dionysian experience of the Basotho people and the Basotho Culture.

Multi-Modal Transport Hub - Bloemfontein

South Africa, a fragmented history led to a fragmented modern society.

Similar to most South African cities, Bloemfontein has experienced urban sprawling, which has left the city disconnected and void of social interaction spaces. The city has grown more disjointed due to the overwhelming domination of private vehicles creating a barrier between the urban setting and its users, and in a way disconnecting spaces and people from each other even more than before. The aim of the Multi-Modal Transport Hub is to create a catalyst for social interaction where the layered transport functions and Bloemfontein CBD intersect and culminate in a gathering connection hub whilst addressing the urgent need for public transport within the city.
